Valentine's Day Gelatin Heart Sun Catcher

Ah, Valentine's Day! The day of love, romance, flowers and chocolates :)

Chook and I decided to do a little decorating for Valentine's Day. He chose some heart shaped moulds and glitter.

Using our Gelatin Sun Catcher method we created some beautiful hanging decorations. Instead of adding food colouring Chook shook some glitter into the gelatin mixture, stirred it and let it dry.
We were surprised that the glitter formed a perfect heart shape in the mould!
When the gelatin heart was dry, I punched a hole through the heart, tied some red raffia, added a little raffia bow and hung them around the house.

I kept a couple of hearts aside and made a special surprise for Chook! But you'll have to wait and see what it was :)

  2. The glitter does look lovely :) I had to look up on your other post how to make them hehe. Do they take long to dry? I think it would be a really nice science experiment that Jack would like :)

    1. Hi Kate. You'll need around four days. I have found silicon moulds are faster drying times than trays or cake tin moulds. Can't wait to see them on your 52 posts :)
