A Letter To Shawn Ledington Fink (creator of The Abundant Mama Project).
Dear Shawn,Hi!
I am an abundant mama...maybe just a little too abundant around the hips for my liking. I am abundant in children, too. I have four. I also have an abundant To Do List that is added to throughout the day and hardly checked off (in fact, to be quite honest, I don't even write the damn thing out anymore!)
I am abundant in time too, but it is not my own. It is a rhythm that I love because it means the kids are cared for but at the end of the day I'm ready to sleep when they do.
I am abundant in dreams and hopes but fear that time and tiredness and busyness will let them get away from me.
Shawn, is that what your Abundant Mama Project is about?
Is it about helping me grasp and hold my dreams?
Is it about reviewing my time and identifying how it could be more productive? Making time work for me, not me for it?
Will your Abundant Mama Project help me to parent with joy? Will it help me to be present for my children but not swallowed by their needs?
I know, I ask big, universal things.
I have signed up for your Abandant Mama eCourse offered on your blog Awesomely Awake. I am looking forward to taking this journey, guided by you and supported by other Mamas who may be feeling like me.
In anticipation,
Amie :)

Wow, sounds like you have big expectations! What a great attitude to go into a course with, can't wait to hear how it goes. :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to participating Danya :) I am sure I'll blog something along the way!
DeleteYou made me chuckle at the start of your letter Amie, but I really hope this course helps you on your way to realising your dreams, hoping to take this journey with you xx
ReplyDeleteWill be great to walk beside you, Kelly :)
DeleteLovely post Amie.
ReplyDeleteWell done for making time to participate in a course you feel passionately about ♥
It is kinda strange taking time to gain more time, haha!
DeleteLooking forward to reading about your journey.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great ecourse! I hope it lives up to your expectations hon.
ReplyDeleteI like your interpretation of being abundant in time - so many parents would benefit from taking the same attitude that the investment in our children's lives is the biggest thing we'll ever do. I look forward to hearing more about your journey.
ReplyDeleteIt does sound wonderful. Sometimes I feel like my 'to-do'list consumes me. Maybe I should just stop writing it down too. :) This year particularly as it is our first official homeschooling year I am hoping to parent with more joy and not be consumed by the enormity of the situation. I hope you do blog about your journey :)
ReplyDeleteOh my, so many of these struggles we share, Amie. I hope you find answers to these questions :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new journey hope the course helps you find the answers x
ReplyDeleteThis sounds fantastic! I look forward to hearing more
ReplyDeleteSuch powerful thoughts Amie...i found myself nodding along to your words...looking forward to reading more as you progress on this journey...what a great idea! Thanks for sharing x
ReplyDeleteI look forward to following your Abundant Mama journey, it looks amazing. I had to hold back from joining in, too much to do with bubba arriving any week now :) I will enjoy it through you instead x
ReplyDeleteVery exciting and busy times ahead for you, Kylie! Looking forward to meeting the new addition and wishing everything goes well for you :)
DeleteYou know what, I've got so much more done in these last few days just by giving up facebook. It's obviously my greatest time sucker and I now know if I'm going to head back there I've got to put some boundaries in place!
ReplyDeleteI love that you're taking this on and can't wait to follow your journey! :) x
I've just placed some boundaries on it too and I am thrilled by how efficient I suddenly feel, instead of overwhelmed and feeling like I have achieved nothing :) Thanks for popping in during your off-line time!
DeleteLove that watermelon pic.
